1. Go on a Brewery Tour
There’s lots of great beer in the “beer-borhood!” Visit Austin Beerworks, Celis Brewery, and Hopsquad Brewing Co, all about a five-minute drive from each other.
2. Eat Asian Food
The majority of Asian restaurants can be found in North Austin, so come north to enjoy the many flavors. Here are a few areas to visit:
- Chinatown Center on North Lamar – This is where MT Supermarket is located along with several Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants, including First Chinese BBQ, Fresh Tofu, Baguette House, Taste of Home Dumplings, Pho Saigon, and Texas Bakery.
- The Crescent Shopping Center on Airport – Here you’ll find 99 Ranch Supermarket, Steamies Dumplings, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Soupleaf Hot Pot, and many more Asian shops. You can also drive to the shopping center two minutes away from Tous Les Jour Bakery for Korean shops.
- Hong Kong Supermarket off 183 – Before Chinatown Center opened in 2006, this was Chinatown and there is still a market and several restaurants in this shopping center. Check out House of Three Gorges for Szechuan cuisine, Julie’s Noodles for noodles and dumplings, Ramen Tatsu-ya for Japanese cuisine, and Coco’s Cafe for Taiwanese fried chicken and boba.
- H Mart on Lakeline Blvd – Way up north you’ll find H Mart Supermarket and its food hall variety along with Honey Pig BBQ for Korean barbecue.
- Hana World Market – You may have noticed a pattern of Asian restaurants being located near Asian supermarkets! Hana World Market is near Parmer and I-35 and has a small food court with Ramen del Barrio, Mochinut, Hana Yoree, and Cafe de Margo.
3. Watch Soccer at Q2 Stadium or The Pitch
Football isn’t the only sport in town. Austin FC, the city’s Major League Soccer team, plays matches at Q2 Stadium. The Pitch is a complex next to the team’s practice facility that hosts several dining options and is a great place to watch sports games. Wear your verde and black and cheer along with the rowdiest fan group.
4. Visit the Farmers Market

For comedy shows, visit Austin’s classic Cap City Comedy Club, open since 1986. They bring in a full schedule of comics every week.
