Want to shop locally in Austin? Farmers’ markets and farm stands are as local as you can get! You’ll find farm goods like vegetables and meat, prepared foods like pickles and pastries, and artisan goods like jewelry and art. Plus, shopping at a farmers market is good for you and your community.
What’s the difference between farmers’ markets and farm stands? Farmers’ markets are typically in a parking lot with booths featuring many farms and companies. Farm stands are typically at the farm and feature fewer companies.
While you may go to the market closest to your house as I do, it’s fun to check out others since vendors differ from market to market. Each market features the current vendors on their website and/or social media.
Here are seven farmers’ markets and farm stands to buy local goods.

Located in the large parking lot of Barton Creek Mall, this is Austin’s first farmers’ market. You’ll find plenty of parking, and all the typical vendors like vegetables to prepared foods.
