Captivations is a monthly feature with links, stories, and news that captivated me.
This month was stressful but full. I had incredible opportunities with jobs and this blog that I’ve dreamed about for a while. They are very much in the planning stages, so I can’t share anything solid, but I am hopeful that good things are on their way to me. I also had some big blog posts this month!
- I shared that I am running my first MARATHON this coming February.
- I wrote a personal post to my younger self.
- Gosh, I really like wallpaper.
- I partnered with RAYS Spirits to celebrate summer.
The Postpartum Female Body
The beauty of becoming a mom in this day is the number of resources and lack of filter. About time! Yes, tell me ALL about what it’s like to give birth and live after birth. These things shouldn’t be taboo or embarrassing to talk about. Why pretend that you’ll get your perfect body back right away and your body doesn’t do weird stuff after birthing a new human being? It’s an extra cleanse to loosen up eye and face makeup. This article gives more information and recommendations. I use Biossance’s Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil.

What Causes Global Warming
New research is showing what we eat is driving global warming. Red meat and food waste are just two of the factors. Take a look at this Forbes article and this New York Times article. This is another reason why you should eat more local meat!
Let it Burn
I love this piece in our local Tribeza magazine. It talks about finding purpose.
Powerhouse Female Artists
I’m a fan of Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Even if you aren’t, both of their Vogue cover articles are good reads. Their lives and career moves are tracked continuously, and the world can’t get enough.
Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop
If you read anything from this post, let it be this one. Why is it so hard to savor and appreciate the good things in our lives? In fact, research shows being happy in the moment manifests more. Give yourself more credit and don’t be afraid of doing it.
