November is My Favorite Month
I’ve been celebrating my birthday for about two weeks now! I can’t believe it snuck up on me so quickly. I celebrated my birthday last weekend with a bunch of activities that I had never done before. My weekend included an escape room (we succeeded!), a new-to-me taco trailer, a coffee tasting, a gong bath and meditation session, and going to the Austin Empty Bowl Project event. We were in Dallas for Thanksgiving and had a birthday dinner with my family followed by a delicious berry chantilly cake. Some friends came over with dinner yesterday and Will and I went out to dinner tonight. It’s been a good year, and I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for me!
Is My Job Right for Me?
Many of us spend the majority of our day at an office. We answer emails, go to meetings, and interact with co-workers. Do you enjoy your job? This article gives some questions to think about.
Run 10 Marathons and Still Get Fat Shamed
As I’m training for my first marathon, I was looking up running tips and found Latoya Shauntay Snell. She’s a blogger, chef, and writer. She’s running 10 marathons this year. She has an interesting story about becoming a runner because the way she looks isn’t what a lot of people consider as an athlete. I liked this line in her article: “I quickly realized that I was surrounded by athletes of all shapes, sizes and fitness abilities and that size doesn’t necessarily determine a person’s grit or physical capability.”
How to be Happy
“Whether through work or love or art, life becomes more meaningful whenever we take responsibility for something or someone. Responsibility is not always pleasurable or even positive, but it is purposeful. It adds significance and direction to life and helps answer the perennial human question, “What should I do?”” Read more in this article.

Some Wisdom
“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another. The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.” — Deepak Chopra
New Cookbooks
I love looking at cookbooks! They are filled with beautiful photos and tasty descriptions/recipes. Next year, I’m going to bring back my cook through a cookbook challenge, thanks to a cookbook I got for my birthday! I’ll share more details soon. Until then, take a look at this article about some cookbooks that came out this year.
