One of my favorite things to gift and receive are items you can’t really find anywhere else. For my friends, I’ve enjoyed finding and gifting fun and cute goods made here in Austin. Here are some of my favorites.
Greeting Cards from Little Low
I’ve loved Little Low’s greeting cards for a long time and usually have some on hand for when I need it. I like the punny ones the best. They also do art prints and calendars.
Candles from The Burlap Bag
These candles crack me up. With names like Unicorn Puke, Crazy Cat Lady, Queen of Farts and Hippie Scent, these candles are sure to give a laugh and unlike their names suggest, great smells!
Soap Bars from Fleegal Farms
These natural handmade soap bars that smell like you just walked through a lavender field or just bathed in a lemon bath! They also other skincare product such as sugar scrubs and face creams.
Jewelry from Son of a Sailor
My favorite pieces include the Durango Bevel, The Sabine Chevron, the Pecos bracelet. The dash of color is so fun!
Art Prints from Chet Philips
I’m a big Firefly fan so when I saw this Captain Mal print by Artist Chet Philips, I was sold. I like the movie and tv tribute art the best but there are many, many options!
Blankets from Stitch Happy Boutique
This shop has the cutest prints on super soft blankets and they are adorable. They also make pacifier clips, crib sheets, teething rings and more.
Art Prints from Satchel and Sage
I love the whimsical and wildness these prints show. My favorites are the feathers, honeycomb, and bear.
Jewelry from Britta Ambauen
I love this jewelry because it’s got something for everyone. A little bit of easy, classic pieces and then some with a little flair. The Spiraling Circle necklaces are my favorite.
Pillows and Pendants from Little Skunk Co
These pillows and pendants are so stinkin’ cute! I could see these pillows in a kid’s room or the pendants in the mix of a home art gallery.
Most of the websites provide a way to purchase online, but if you want to see, feel, touch these goods before you buy:
My favorite holiday event is the free Blue Genie Art Bazaar where local artists and makers have booths to sell their items. You’ll discover so many cool and fun items there!
