The ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ Story You Haven’t Heard
Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love (one of my favorites!) wrote this article for Conde Nast Traveler about an experience she had in Indonesia during that trip. It’s such a beautiful story and very relevant in today’s world. Give it a read!
Adventure is Closer Than You Think
Speaking of Elizabeth Gilbert, for the 10th anniversary of Eat, Pray, Love‘s release, the publishers released Eat, Pray, Love Made Me Do It, a collection of essays from those who created their own journeys inspired by the book. Travel has an incredible way of healing people, but this interview about the book reminds us that you don’t need to hop on a plane or spend a lot of money to make powerful life changes. Self-love can start with going to the gym, spending time with friends and taking more walks in the park.

The Trials of Iceland Tourism
Iceland has seen a tremendous amount of growth in tourism in the last five years. In fact, visitation has increased 264 percent! As you can imagine, this increase is raising many questions. How will the tourism affect the environment? Having previously relied on fishing, Iceland’s economy is now putting more importance on tourism. This means more flights to Iceland and more tourist companies. Will this change the culture? Can Iceland build up its infrastructure, like better roads, to support tourism? The country is very hopeful in moving forward. Skift did an excellent analysis of the changes in Iceland. It’s definitely something to think about when you travel.
Gone to Houston!
I’m visiting Houston next week. I’ve been a couple of times before but this will be the first time with lots of time for exploration. What should I see, do, and eat? Please leave your suggestions below!

Visit Singapore for Michelin-Star Street Food
Mr. Chan Hon Meng, now 51, has been preparing Soya Sauce Chicken for 36 years. His street food stall in Singapore – Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle – is now the FIRST to have a Michelin star! Big congrats to him! The food is an great value too: half a chicken is $7 and there are dishes for $3! A small fraction of what a Michelin-star restaurant would cost.
