National Parks Spotlight
I saw two art exhibits featuring the U.S. National Parks recently. Type Hike focuses on typography while The Fifty-Nine Parks Print Series (above) focuses on illustrating the landscape. Both feature beautiful posters that make me want to explore more parks!
Joshua Tree
One of the many national parks on my to-travel list, Joshua Tree is the epitome desert chic. Big cactuses yet there’s something so homey about the place. The Everygirl has a quick guide if you want to visit.
Is Flying Messing With Our Bodies?
There have been a couple of studies and the results are pointing to yes. Most of the changes, like taste or reflexes, are barely noticeable. Many of the studies noted are contradictory to each other, so it sounds like there needs to be more research about the possible long-term effects!

I didn’t know much about Slovenia until I watched the Chef’s Table episode about Hiša Franko. The episode featured Slovenia’s incredibly beautiful landscape of mountains and lakes. Of course, learning about Ana Roš’s restaurant helped too. The Central European country borders Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia, and these photos on Conde Nast Traveler will make you put it on your travel list too.
The 6 Forgotten Giants
Copenhagen-based artist Thomas Dambo has created six massive giants made from recycled wood and “hidden” them in Copenhagen. These beautiful works of art would be cool to see!

I know I’ve talked about my desires for a road trip in a van. This New Yorker article talks about how Instagram probably made those desires develop. Van life is still a cool thing to do but I’m also seeing more and more people do it. KUDOS to those adventurers!

Privilege to Travel
When I returned from Belize, a co-worker asked if I had been on vacation and I ended up finding out that she has never heard of Belize. In my assumptions, I would guess that she has not traveled internationally much, especially for leisure, because of cost. When you think about it, much of the world doesn’t see frequent international travel as a necessity or possibility because they’re living day to day. On the other side, think about all the countries that depend on tourism or are even waiting for tourism to come “save” them. There are several different points and discussion topics I just mentioned and we could go on and on about what is best. For me, it all comes down to remembering I’m lucky to have the opportunity to experience travel as I do!
