Wanderlust? Me too! My monthly Fearless Wanderlust posts will keep you informed about travel news and give you inspiration for your next trip.
Instagram is Changing Travel
We keep talking about this because we keep being reminded about it. In the age of social media, it’s hard to look past a destination’s Instagram worth. Sometimes it makes me sad that travel these days is more about crossing it off the list and “doing it for the ‘gram” than truly experiencing. As someone who’s big into documenting, especially for blogging, I hope you see more with your own eyes than through a lens.
Memphis, TN
We’re always looking for the next hot destination. Could it be Memphis, Tennessee? If it’s anything like Nashville, a city I love, I’m for it!
Treehouse Hotels
Our hotel in Belize marketed our room as a treehouse but these treehouse hotels have the real seclusion I was imagining.
Tokyo Capsule Hotel
My friend is planning his trip to Japan and I’ve been noticing all the Japan things! Cue wanderlust. This hotel in Tokyo looks so cool!
Texas Small Towns
Want to get away? These accommodations in small towns in Texas will have you hankering for a quiet and aesthetically-pleasing getaway.
Michelin Guide
When it comes to the best restaurants in the world, Michelin stars is one way restaurants are rewarded. In the U.S., Michelin reviews restaurants in three cities: Chicago, San Francisco, and New York City. Japan, the U.S., and France are the countries with the most Michelin-starred restaurants. Michelin has been expanding throughout Asia and now, Taipei has more than 20 restaurants on the list. I usually use the “world’s best” lists more than Michelin but it’s another resource to seek out great dining while you travel.
Anthony Bourdain Says
If I had to travel to an unfamiliar destination, I would opt to have Anthony Bourdain as my travel buddy. Maybe it’s his years of travel experience, but he makes me think he can get through anything. So, here’s some travel advice from him. He basically says, be bolder! Related, I’m sad Netflix is taking Parts Unknown off on April 1st! There’s no way I can power through the last nine episodes before then!
Antarctica
I’ve been reading much about Antarctica lately and it’s got me wanderlusting. I hear it’s incredible and these pictures are a small peek at that. It also costs $$$$, requires some major winter weather preparation, and there are some scary majestic animals there, so I can see why it’s usually not the first on traveler’s wanderlust list.
Most Expensive Cities
These are the most expensive cities to live in and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes the same for visiting. Top five: Singapore; Paris, France; Zurich, Switzerland; Hong Kong; Oslo, Norway.
I’m counting down the days until my next trip! Where is your next trip?
P.S. If you’re preparing for summer, it’s time to start thinking about reservations for Hamilton Pool!
