Wanderlust? Me too! My monthly Fearless Wanderlust posts will keep you informed about travel news and give you inspiration for your next trip.
From day trips to international escapades, travel has a way of opening our eyes to something new. It sparks inspiration, connects us with people around the world, and helps us see and appreciate the bigger picture. Plus, it is a lot of fun! I hope 2020 brings you some grand adventures.
Street Food
Some of the best bites on my travels have been from street vendors. No frills yet mouth-wateringly good. It happened in Thailand, Mexico City, Egypt, and Indonesia. So next time you travel, be a little adventurous! This article and this article both highlight some great street food dishes from around the world.
Where to Go in 2020?
Haven’t decided your travels yet? The New York Times list of 52 places is available to read. It has some beautiful and unique places on the list. I’m very familiar with one of them: Austin! If you’re planning on visiting, let me know! Here are some Austin posts to help you:
New Hotels of 2020
Where should you travel? See where the new hotels are being built. Vogue has a list and Fodors has a list. These hotels look incredible!
A Man and His Chicken Sailed Around the World
Yep, the title says it all. From Greenland to Antarctica, this journey Guirec Soudée and his chicken Monique took looks daunting, cold, and absolutely adventurous. He did this from 22-25 years old! Learn more here.
Loved to Death
I’ve been talking about overtourism because not only is it bad for the environment and local community, but it can be a bad experience for the traveler. I experienced that in Indonesia. This article goes into depth about the effects.
Free Park Days
If you plan on visiting a U.S. National Park this year, mark your calendar for these free entrance days. These days encourage more people to visit. Per my goals, I’m hoping to visit three parks this year, so I’m trying to decide which ones. Have any recommendations? I loved Big Bend but it’s a bit of a drive.
Travel Better
How do we enjoy our travel while being kind to our earth and the community we’re visiting? Adventurous Kate has an article you should read.
Best Hotel Awards
Jetsetter released their list of hotel winners. These hotels are so dreamy and beautiful! I think one of the most fun things about staying in a hotel is seeing the design. So, ogle these beautiful hotels and put one or two on your bucket list!
Let’s Go Cruising
Surprise – my next trip is booked and we’re going on a cruise! Cruises get a bad rep but we chose it because it’s the easiest way to wrangle many family members while visiting different places. We’ll be cruising the Eastern Caribbean (not to one of these best cruising destinations) and Will and I will be diving at least twice. I haven’t been on a cruise in about 15 years (I think this was my last cruise), so if you have any tips, let me know!
