Wanderlust? This quarter’s Fearless Wanderlust post has travel news and inspiration to plan your next trip.
Summer Travel
How is your summer going? Are you jet setting to Europe, avoiding plane chaos by road tripping, or avoiding the high travel prices altogether? As I mentioned in the previous Fearless Wanderlust post, I’m staying local this summer. We did a quick weekend in San Antonio, spent two weekends in Wimberley on the Blanco River (pictured above), and will soon visit the Texas coast. It’s been a low-key summer, but in the fall, we’re planning to visit Florida and a Caribbean country we’ve never been to!
Michelin in Florida
Speaking of Florida, the Michelin Guide recently added Florida to their worldwide award listings, with 15 Michelin-starred restaurants in three cities – Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. Michelin is one of the ways to find great restaurants to visit, though these also tend to be a more expensive dining experience.
Mexico City Rental
The vacation rental market has expanded and I often see eye-catching options on social media or in media articles. Take this architect’s home in Mexico City for example. It’s a 1.2-acre park with a unique house.
Rugged Adventures
If you’re looking for a unique travel experience, consider a horse trek or hiking tour in Mongolia, Kazakhstan, or Siberia! When it comes to travel destinations, this is definitely somewhere a smaller percentage of tourists visit.
Walking Tours
GuruWalk provides free walking tours all around the world, so check this out when you travel.
Digital Nomads
Nowadays, the number of digital nomads is growing because of the expansion of remote work. Here’s a list of the best cities for digital nomads, places that give you the structure to get work done and provide a community for socialization.
Pink Hotel
I hope you like the color pink! The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California has 110 individually themed rooms, elegantly decorated dining spots, a spa, and more. This could be a fun spot for a girly getaway.
Happiest Country
For the fifth year in a row, Finland is the happiest country in the world. Why? Satisfaction with its government is a big factor (honesty and trust) but the culture and things to do help too. For me, the weather is a significant factor of satisfaction, so while I wouldn’t enjoy cold winters, highs in the 60s in the summer sound nice!
