Mochi donuts in Austin! With the opening of multiple shops, these sweet treats have become more available in the last five years. This blog post shares three spots to find mochi donuts and what flavors you should try.

Originating in Hawaii in the 1990s, mochi donuts combine the American-style donut with Japanese mochi, made with glutinous rice flour. These donuts have a chewy and stretchy texture instead of a fluffy texture of typical donuts.
Here are 3 places to visit for mochi donuts:
Dduk Dduk
The newest spot on this list, this food truck on Airport Blvd is a good place to stop. They have 6 regular flavors and sometimes feature special flavors. My favorite flavor was the raspberry matcha. I’m curious about their savory ddubboki too.

OMG Squee
This gluten-free bakery started with booths at farmers’ markets and pop-ups before opening a brick-and-mortar in 2020. They offered macarons and expanded with mochi donuts, soft serve taiyaki, and more sweet treats. Their donuts are very cute, and my favorite flavor is the ube.
