It’s a strange joy of mine, I know. I love spotting wallpaper in the wild. Many times it’s expected when you enter an impeccably decorated restaurant and other times, it’s a delightful surprise when you go to the restroom. Wallpaper is a hot trend that can bring the decor together and add some kitschy or classy fun to the decor.
If you are in Austin and get giddy about wallpaper, here are 12 more places you can spot some amazing wallpaper! (My first edition of this can be found in this post.)
1. Le Politique
It’s not a pattern I would have expected in this French restaurant but the colors fit perfectly. But really, most things go when you have tasty pastries in the foreground.
2. Old Thousand
The home of “dope Chinese food,” Old Thousand also serves up some floral walls. (How have I dined here multiple times and not gotten a picture of the wallpaper??)
3. Colleen’s Kitchen
What’s the best wallpaper for a restaurant serving Southern cuisine? Golden chickens of course!
4. Lady Quackenbush’s Cakery
The perfect complement to its pastel walls and décor, matching light blue floral wallpaper bring fun to this Mueller bakery’s walls and shelves. (They’ve got cupcakes at this bakery!)
5. Aviator Nation
The yellow curly design is captivating, especially with the rest of the décor at this retail shop on South Congress Avenue.
6. Gabriela’s
This Mexican restaurant on the east side not only has a popular happy hour, but their cozy indoor area has two different metallic wallpapers.
7. She’s Not Here
She’s Not Here, but maybe she’s hiding in the palm leaves in the restroom or the gold leaves on the back wall of the restaurant.
8. Suerte
You got lucky! Suerte continues the pink into their restrooms with tropical flamingos. (See my post about dining at Suerte here.)
9. Sugar Pine
The whimsical birds and clouds of this wallpaper at Sugar Pine is the perfect setting for a dreamy casual Japanese meal. (See what I ordered to eat here.)
10. Foreign & Domestic
As I was taking a picture of the pineapples in the hallway of this restaurant, our waiter told me to go inside the restroom for more. Foxes and chickens are typically enemies but not on these walls!
11. Bar Peached
Possibly the prettiest pink restroom in Austin, Bar Peached has gold accents in its wallpaper and fixtures. (It’s as fun as their birthday cake bingsu dessert!)
12. Craftsman
Who are you looking at? The ladies of Craftsman are watching you in the restroom. Take a closer look at you’ll see some with lipstick and some with googly eyes.
