My friends and I tried out Electric Shuffle near Rainey Street. You might have played shuffleboard but likely not like this! This new bar and restaurant in Austin is a great activity for weekend brunch. Keep reading to see why it’s a great option for a bachelorette brunch.
What is Electric Shuffle?
In short, it’s a bar and restaurant with electric shuffleboard! Originating in London and with another location in Dallas, Electric Shuffle has shuffleboard as the focus but it’s supercharged. Here it’s a high-tech game with sensors in the pucks and the board. You’re guided by the game on the screen – whose turn it is and how many points you get. You’ll also watch instant replays there.
The place has numerous shuffleboard tables and sections so that you could have a private space for your group. Each area is thoughtfully decorated, colorful with vintage vibes.
Austin’s Electric Shuffle location, which opened this past November, is located near Rainey Street, across from the Hotel Van Zandt and in walking distance from Rainey’s bars and restaurants.
Bachelorette Brunch
An easy way to celebrate is by booking brunch! It costs $50 per person and includes 90 minutes of shuffleboard, a bottle of prosecco per guest, drink mixers, and a whole menu of brunch bites.
This foodie approves the food! It’s hard to pick a favorite dish. We enjoyed:
- Avocado toast with scrambled egg
- Trillonaire’s bacon – spicy and sweet
- Chicken and biscuits
- Breakfast quesadillas
- Bacon Jam breakfast pizza
- Margherita pizza
- Truffle fries
- Fresh fruit and cinnamon sugar donut holes
For drinks, they also have a great cocktail list, including special brunch cocktails. Isn’t the Indigo Elderflower G&T pretty?

We had a lot of fun with the games. Eclipse is one of the most popular where you try to slide your puck into the black circle on the board. We got a few of those!
The other game we played was based on getting as many points as possible. The board is divided into sections of one to five points. The farthest section is five points, so you have to slide it exactly to go far enough and stay on the board.
